Let’s be real — not every real estate agent is ready to switch brokerages.
Some agents are perfectly happy where they are, while others are quietly frustrated but won’t say it out loud.
The key to successful agent attraction isn’t trying to recruit everyone — it’s knowing how to spot the agents who are already open to change. Once you learn to identify these signals, you can stop wasting time chasing and start focusing on the conversations that actually matter.
Sometimes agents will tell you more than they realize — you just have to listen between the lines.
Look for subtle clues, like:
Frustration with splits, fees, or lack of support
Phrases like “I’m just trying to figure out my next step”
Asking deeper questions about your brokerage or business model
Wanting to learn how you built passive income or leveraged revenue share
When you hear these cues, it’s a sign they’re open to hearing what’s possible.
Social media is full of hints if you know what to watch for:
Frequent posts about long hours, burnout, or juggling multiple clients
Subtle complaints about leadership or culture
Celebrating wins but never highlighting brokerage support
Engaging with competitors' content or recruiting posts
Agents who are curious but quiet often reveal a lot in their online behavior.
Continuing education classes, masterminds, and networking events are where open-minded agents naturally gather.
These are low-pressure environments where you can:
Build genuine connections
Listen to their challenges
Offer insights without pitching
When agents see you as a resource instead of a recruiter, trust grows — and conversations happen naturally.
When you connect with an agent, don’t lead with a pitch. Instead, ask questions like:
“What’s been your biggest challenge lately?”
“What are your goals for the next 12 months?”
“What kind of support would make your life easier right now?”
These open-ended questions start real conversations — and agents often reveal whether they’re happy or ready for change.
One of the biggest mistakes I see leaders make is chasing every agent. That approach wastes time and burns relationships.
The truth?
You don’t need every agent — you need the right ones.
Focus on alignment instead of convincing, and you’ll build a stronger organization filled with agents who want to be there.
You can’t recruit everyone — and you shouldn’t try.
But once you know how to spot the signs of readiness, recruiting becomes easier, conversations flow naturally, and your energy goes where it matters most.
